Ragweed is Raging... Natural Solutions for Relief!
Its that time of year when ragweed is wrecking havoc on peoples sinuses. If you are one of the luck people whom ragweed affects, then you know all too well the sinus pressure, runny nose and itchy eye torture that is mid August. I am one of those people who is only minorly effected by seasonal stressors like this, and typically at least once a year I have needed to take a pill to relieve the symptoms. That is,until I discovered doTERRA!
My son is one of those people who suffer greatly from seasonal and environmental stressors. With the power of plant medicine, we are able to support his body and find relief of the symptoms which cause stress and pain to him.
The best essential oils to support our bodies with seasonal and environmental stress are:
Lemon Essential Oil: Is known as being a powerful cleansing and purifying oil. It is an excellent decongestant. Is refreshing and and uplifting. Lemon oil supports our respiratory system with its antiseptic, anti-fungal, anti-viral, antioxidant, invigorating and refreshing properties.
Lavender Essential Oil: Has powerful anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. (AKA-its a natural pain reliever!) It is also a natural anti-histamine. Lavender calms and soothes our nerves and skin, which both can become irritated with seasonal distress.
Peppermint Essential Oil: Is often used to support the respiratory system due to its anti-inflammatory and decongestant properties. It helps open airways with its cooling and invigorating properties. It is known for its analgesic, antiseptic and antispasmodic properties.
How to Use These Oils to Support Seasonal Distress:
These oils can be used aromatically, topically and ONLY when using doTERRA CPTG oils, you can take them internally.
Personally I always start with diffusing, as aromatic is the easiest way to incorporate oils into our lives and experience the benefits . So,on days when the seasonal threats are high, I will wake up and immediately fill the diffusers with fresh water, 2 drops of lemon, 2 drops lavender and 2 drops peppermint. I find typically diffusing these oils,it will quickly address and clear up any discomfort my family or I maybe facing. If there is no relief in about 20 mins, or if the symptoms are more severe (extremely itchy eyes, runny nose ect...) then I grab a roller ball blend I made for easy use and apply the oils topically.
Roller ball Blend for Seasonal Distress:
10 drops Lemon
10 drops Lavender
5 drops Peppermint
5 drops Frankincense (frankincense magnifies and helps the oils in this blend work on a cellular level in our bodies even better)
Combine these oils in a 10ml roller ball bottle and top with a carrier oil, like fractionated coconut oil.
Apply to chest, neck and back. Inhale from bottle or hands and even massage a dab on temples and sinuses.
My son is only 5 years old, so I only use the oils topically and aromatically for him. But DoTERRA does offer a softgel capsule which has the combination of lemon, lavender and peppermint for easy oral consumption when you are faced with seasonal or environmental stressors. It is called TriEase and those who use it, love it!!!!
For added support it is recommended to take 1 TriEase and 1 On Guard + softgel for seasonal support!
