RE- Train Your Brain: Daily Habits & your oils! DoTERRA Top Ten Oils and How to use them in your


Many people learn about essential oils at a class or hear about them from a friend, and they may purchase a beautiful kit of doTERRA oils, or even be gifted one (if they are incredibly lucky!) But when the oils arrive at the door, and they open the box, they may think, "Oh Boy, What do I do with these?" Some will use their lavender and On Guard or whatever else they maybe familiar with, but others who are completely new to oils don't know where to start or how to move forward, and rather than scheduling their free wellness consultation to learn more, the oils just sit in the box on the shelf. (Sometimes for years, which is truly tragic!!!!- Do NOT let that be you!

First off, I want to tell you, I am here for you, I know this journey maybe completely new and daunting. You might not know me personally and might feel nervous sharing your biggest health concerns and wellness goals with a stranger, but trust me, I will never judge, I am here to serve and assist you on your journey. As an oil user for 20+ years it is second nature for me to reach for my bottle lavender when I get a cut or burn, but you probably still reach for the neosporin. That is ok, but now that you have these amazing natural, toxic free products that support the body you should use them. But I also encourage you to empower yourself, and to get your hands on a copy of the Modern Essentials Book- you can get a copy of the newest edition online for $21.99. (the newest edition has doTERRAs specific blend names listed, where as previous editions used the generic blend names, example: Breathe was called the Respiratory blend). You can also find used editions for less, and there is a Modern Essentials App for your phone as well which I find handy when I am on the run, it doesn't contain all the information that the book does,the book is a fountain of information- you can read about each oil, you can look up an issue and find which oils will help, there are recipes for making products, science of how the oils work, detailed information on how to use oils and so much more!!!

Having a copy of the book helps you be able to research concerns yourself and empowers you to feel confident using your oils. It is just another tool on this journey. (and it helps us retrain our brains!) This blog will go through the top ten oils in most enrollment kits and how to incorporate them into you daily life. These are just a few of the best uses for these oils. As you get comfortable with them I am sure you will find more uses, but I thought this might help you get comfortable. Use Daily:

Lemon

  • One Drop in water in the morning or throughout the day.

It cleanses the body, detoxifies and aid metabolic activity of our cells, balances blood pressure whether high or low, and it helps the brain block stress hormones!

  • Inhaling Lemon helps uplift the mood. Inhale from a bottle or put in a diffuser alone or with another oil you love. (I love lemon and rosemary, lemon and lavender or Lemon, lavender and peppermint- which this blend helps relieve season discomforts and aids breathing, but it also just smells great!!)

  • Lemon is also an excellent oil to use for cleaning

Frankincense

  • One drop under the tongue daily to support all body systems, maintain healthy cellular function, repair cells and aid over health

  • Add one drop to your natural skin cream or oil to help beautify skin, aids with cellular rejuvenation, lessens the appearance of wrinkles and age spots. (I mix with lavender)

  • Diffuse for mental clarity or for meditation. I especially enjoy diffusing frankincense and wild orange, because it is uplifting and aids with mental clarity, but Frankincense and on guard is very nice as well.

Peppermint

  • Is wonderful to diffuse daily, it is very purifying, as it is antibacterial, antiseptic, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmatic but it is also invigorating and stimulating to the mind. It aids memory and mental performance. So, diffusing will give many benefits to your daily health and wellness.

  • Put 1 drop in water for a boost, mid afternoon, it increase energy, tastes great and seems to lessen cravings for sweets.

  • I apply topically to ease tight muscles or calm an upset stomach. Can be applied neat but I recommend diluting with a carrier oil to focus the peppermint in the specific area of application.

Digestzen- this blend is used to aid digestion, balance and improve digestion function.

  • Use to aid digestion. Apply 1-4 drops directly to stomach or bottoms of feet to soothe abdominal discomfort. (bloating, constipation, cramps, diarrhea, food poisoning, nausea, and other issues)

  • Ease to sinus pressure (tap 1 drop into sinuses)

  • Relieve heartburn – massage 1 drop into heart/ chest area

  • Take 1 drop in water or put 1 drop under tongue after all meals to aid digestion

On Guard – This blend is the protective blend and all oils in it have been studied for their abilities to kill bacteria, mold and viruses.

  • Diffuse to purify air

  • Massage on feet daily to support immune system. I usually do it in the morning

  • When sick apply this to feet, spine at least 2 x a day. Always dilute this with oil.

Lavender

  • Apply 1-2 drop to bottoms of feet about 30 mins before bedtime to sooth mind and get you ready for sleep.

  • Diffuse at night in bedroom – aids sleep and also stops snoring

  • Add one drop to your natural skin cream or oil to help beautify skin, aids with cellular rejuvenation, lessens the appearance of wrinkles and age spots. (I mix with frankincense)

  • Apply 1 drop to wrist pressure points, back of neck and heart to manage stress (this is often my perfume for the day.)

  • Apply 1 drop directly on cuts, burns or stings/ bug bite

Use As Needed:

Breathe- This blend supports the respiratory system. It is excellent to when ill, but also for day to day.

  • Supports respiratory breathing- inhale from palms, bottle or diffuse to support respiratory system. Inhale and massage on chest before a workout to maximize performance.

  • If having difficulty breathing inhale deeply.

Melaleuca

  • Excellent for cleaning, heals cuts and wounds, excellent for razor burn or athletes foot.Apply one drop with carrier oil to affected area.

  • Excellent to use when fighting a cold. At the first sign of a cold, massage one from with a carrier oil into bottoms of feet and spine.

Oregano

  • This oils is excellent for use to get rid of a cold. Highly antiseptic, antimicrobial, antibacterial and antiviral.

  • At the first sign of a cold, Apply 1-2 drops with a carrier oil to the bottoms of feet and spine.

Additional Items that are great for daily use to support the body:

Deep Blue Line (Oil, Lotion and Suppliments)

  • Massage deep blue lotion or oil into tight areas to relieve tension, pain and inflammation of muscles, bones and nerves. This is excellent for pre and post workout.

  • Deep Blue Polyphenol Complex Supplement- The blend of polyphenol extracts of frankincense, turmeric, green tea, ginger, pomegranate, and grape seed, supports our bodies to provide soothing support to aching muscles and to other occasional discomfort. Take as needed.
